Review: NDS-Guitar Hero On Tour

Jul. 3 3:55 AM by Miz_Calamity

When you think of Guitar Hero you automatically think about having that plastic guitar controller in your hand, rocking out to some awesome songs with notes disguised as one of 5 colors -Green, Red, Yellow, Blue or Orange and battling with your friends via online. You could never imagine that a company could ever be able to pull off the same effect on a hand held console...well it seems that Activision has. But did they succeed? After all what is Guitar Hero without the Guitar?

Read on to find out.

After producing Imagine:Babyz, I thought there would be very little Ubisoft could do to redeem itself in my eyes, but I was wrong. This week, I bring you a double feature: My Life Coach: Weight Management for the Nintendo DS (called My Weight Loss Coach in the USA) and Cooking Guide: Can't Decide What to Eat?

Battlefield: Bad Company Review

Jun. 25 10:28 PM by bunnyXablaze

It's the second day Battlefield: Bad Company has been out and I haven't been able to put it down. Many gamers have complained about being in a rut after Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare came out. With reason though, COD4:MW was one of the best games of last year and it's multiplayer was simply outstanding. I believe the new Battlefield game is a remedy for this rut!

Released for the PlayStation 3 and the Xbox 360, BF:BC is a first-person shooter developed at EA DICE. You can't really compare previous Battlfield games to this one, they've revamped the series and added a few changes.

WiiWare: My Pokemon Ranch

Jun. 12 12:55 AM by Miz_Calamity

On Monday I was extremely excited to get my hands on the one WiiWare title I have been wanting to try out: My Pokemon Ranch. As any pokemon fanatic would be I quickly turned on my Wii and hurried to the Wii Shop Channel. Which seemed to take FOREVER as my anticipation grew watching our main man Mario run across the screen getting those coins and waiting for his fat Italian butt to start jumping up to hit those blocks for coins which meant I was one minute closer to seeing those cute little pokemon on screen.
After all that waiting was it worth it?

Ninja Gaiden 2: First Impressions

Jun. 7 8:36 PM by Nikole

The other day I picked up Ninja Gaiden 2 from Blockbuster. I knew the first game was really hard so I wasn't ready to commit and shell out the $60 dollars for it. Ninja Gaiden is a series of games centered around a dragon ninja named Ryu Hayabusa. The series gained fame early on when it was released on the NES. It's also the first game to have cinematic cut scenes. The newest installment to the series came out last Tuesday, June 3rd and has been met with positive response. Ninja Gaiden 2 is a beautiful game. The graphics are crisp and detailed. You start the game in a dark futuristic Tokyo. Imagine Gotham City but in Japan, and you have Chapter 1 of Ninja Gaiden. It's very dark but very beautiful. The first thing you do is learn to fight and in true Ninja Gaiden fashion, there is a lot of finger bashing, but there is a method to the madness. Simple techniques like (X)(X)(X)(X) and (X)(X)(X)(Y) are easy to remember and yet serve a good deal of damage.

Damnation Preview

Jun. 4 12:16 AM by bunnyXablaze

Damnation! I mean... What exactly is Damnation? This third-person shooter is coming to the PS3, 360, and PC in late 2008 by Blue Omega and Codemasters (Codemasters published the game Overlord). Damnation is said to "change the landscape of third-person action / shooters forever" and promises new heights in third-person shooters. Codemasters has even said this game is a "shooter gone vertical."

What exactly does that mean? Does Codemasters and Blue Omega have a hit on their hands?

MadWorld revealed for the Wii

May. 26 9:09 PM by bunnyXablaze

And I find it kinda funny,
I find it kinda sad.
The dreams in which I'm dying,
Are the best I've ever had.

Whenever we gamers hear the song "Madworld" sung by Gary Jules, we automaticly think of Gears of War or Donnie Darko. Could this all change very soon?

Sega and Platinum Games announced MadWorld, coming exclusively to the Wii. MadWorld came from the minds who brought us Okami, Resident Evil 4, and Viewtiful Joe, and is also inspired by Frank Miller's Sin City (when you see the screenshots, Sin City is the first thing you'll think of). Comic book and graphic novel fans -- this might be a game for you.
