May. 12 3:33 PM by bunnyXablaze

Mirror's Edge is an action-adventure first-person sceduled to come out November 11th. There aren't that many people who have heard about Mirror's Edge yet, (Coming to Xbox 360, Playstation 3, and Windows) but for those who have they are well aware this is a game to keep their eyes on.

Mirror's Edge was announced almost a year ago and has slipped quitely under radar until now! It's powered by Unreal Engine 3, in addition to a new lighting solution developed by EA Digital Illusions CE (DICE). The video of the gameplay shows a clean, brightly coloured, and realistic enviornment. You can do things such as wall-running, climbing up sides of buildings, leaping long distances, and much more. The game trailer of real gameplay footage shows how freely the main character, Faith, moves. When she leaps you can see her arms and legs flailing in the most realistic way.

May. 7 9:06 PM by bunnyXablaze

Of course everyone has heard the Lego Video Game series has been expanded to two more titles, they've been writen about on GameGirl already aswell. As a huge fan of the Lego Star Wars series, I'm extremely excited about Lego Batman, and have been keeping a close watch on all the information, and announcements floating around. For those of you who don't know what path the game is going to follow, Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment announced it as,
A stampede of notorious criminals have busted out of ARKHAM ASYLUM, where GOTHAM CITY houses only the shadiest of characters. It's up to the famed CAPED CRUSADER to sweep Gotham clean of criminal activity using everything at his disposal, including crime-fighting vehicles as well as several baddie-bashing bat gadgets.
There are a few iconic villians in the Batman series... One of which was recently announced to be included in Lego Batman. Any ideas yet?

Review PSP: Final Fantasy VII - Crisis Core

May. 7 2:33 AM by Miz_Calamity

I am a major Final Fantasy fan and even though Final Fantasy VII isn't my all time favorite out of the series it definitely comes in second. The story in this game is so heart wrenching that I know a lot of the toughest guys who played this teared up. Now what we have with Crisis Core is answers to all the major questions a lot of you Final Fantasy VII fans were asking: What made Sephiorth lose control? What happened to Zack to make Cloud the way he is now? These questions and more have been answered in this long awaited prequel to the fantastic game that is Final Fantasy VII. Most fans were worried about the series not being "true to its roots" and worried about it being put on a portable device but honestly the great graphics that we now have with games makes this Final Fantasy a masterpiece even on a small system.

Review: Wii-Mario Kart

May. 6 6:29 AM by Miz_Calamity

Despite over 95% of the gaming population going crazy over Grand Theft Auto IV I have been obsessing over Mario Kart. Since the first installment on the SNES, every Nintendo system to date has had a release of Mario Kart on it including four on the consoles, two portable games, and even two arcade games and now with this eighth installment they have yet to disappoint.

Mario Kart for the Wii: First Thoughts

May. 5 9:14 PM by Nikole

I recently picked up Mario Kart for the Wii. I got it after GTA 4 so I haven't played it as much as I'd like to have. I admit for a self-proclaimed Nintendo fangirl I was not excited at all about this game. I have become somewhat jaded with Nintendo and their remarkable ability to re-hash the same thing over and over again, each time with a bigger price tag. I was expecting to rant on it about how similar it was to the other versions, mainly Mario Kart 64. Simply put, I was wrong. Starting with the very first race I was into the game.

GTA 4: So Far

May. 5 11:21 AM by Raychul

Like everyone else on my Xbox Live buddy list (except for the one guy playing Viva Pinata) I am completely hooked and dangerously addicted to GTA 4. Seriously, you would think they would start to run out of ideas, I mean how do you make an already record breaking game even better?! Rockstar obviously has the answers.

GTA 4: First Thoughts

Apr. 29 8:04 PM by Nikole

So today I, like many, spent a good portion of my day playing Grand Theft Auto. I haven't gotten very far, only 10 gamer points, but I did get some Warm Coffee and that's what counts. So I wanted to give you my impressions so far. The hardest thing about the game I've realized is controlling your car. I am not a good driver in real life, and I guess that transfers over into gaming as well. I am starting to get the hang of it though. Another thing I don't like is how little of Liberty City is capable of interacting with. Other then those two things I am completely loving it. I just got a pistol and not to brag, but I'm a good shot. So I'm having lots of fun with it so far.

How bout you though?
Anyone have the same problems with driving as I do?
Tell me your thoughts.

And if your one of the people who haven't pick it up this game, then I have great news for you. Tonight on The Game Show, the show I co-host, we are giving away a free copy of GTA on the system of your choice. So tune into TheStream.tv @ 10pm pst/1am est, see you there!!!

*Update: Last night's show was dedicated to GTA 4, if you missed it check it here. The Game Show - Grand Theft Awesome

So Many Games So Little Time

Apr. 25 12:06 AM by Miz_Calamity

Have you ever just had so many games to choose from and couldn't decide what to get? Well I am definitely having that dilemma right now. There are quite a few games that have come out and that will be coming out in a few days that I am really excited about so lets go through the list!

If you haven't realized yet I am a HUGE Pokemon fanatic. I have been obsessed with the games since the first time I played Pokemon Red on the Game-Boy. This series is simply amazing it takes everything that I love about the Pokemon games and gives me the chance of actually PLAYING as a Pokemon. They have added quite a few cool new features to the second installment of the Mystery Dungeon Series: Using the Wi-Fi Connection you can trade teams, exchange rescue requests, and you can even send SOS email/text messages! You have to take a personality quiz before you start the game and based on your answers is what Pokemon you will become. Who wouldn't love to see what Pokemon they would be? The cool thing about these games is that the dungeons in the game will never be the same so you will never get bored of exploring the different dungeons.

...That Is The Question

Apr. 21 12:58 PM by FemmeFatale

I never thought I'd be scared of playing games before. I mean, sure I was a pansy playing F.E.A.R. with the lights out in my room for the first time, and even Zombie Mod in CS:S creeped me out... But I mean scared in a different way. Never have I been afraid to play a game for fear of a returning game addiction... Until now.

Every time there's talk of a new and promising, hyped-up MMO on the tip of the gamers tongue, I feel slightly nervous. But watching the Age of Conan: Hyborian adventures trailers - resulting in goosebumps - was when I knew I was in deep trouble. What with being a recovering WoW addict, (three months clean, btw! A pretty good feat considering the copious amount of time I spent playing prior to detox) watching such a kick ass MMO trailer, terrifies me.

So the million dollar question arises: To Conan? Or not to Conan?

Banjo Kazooie jumps on the April Fools bandwagon.

Apr. 1 12:56 PM by Nikole

So if you are like me you have been wondering what plot will be for the much anticipated new Banjo Kazooie game. Well the good folks at Rare are finally spilling the beans, well sorta of. They posted 5 possible plots, and only one is the real deal. Here are the 'Rumours". Let me know which one you like!

Rumour One: Banjo and Grunty team up against a new threat, falling in love in the process. Sexy post-transformation Grunty makes a return and proves irresistible to our heroic bear, much to Kazooies disgust. Can the mismatched trio defeat their fire-breathing foe?

Rumour Two: Kazooie is abducted by aliens and Banjo heads out to search the cosmos. Partway through his low-gravity exploits, he discovers whos taken her... and its a familiar face from the Rare archives who has been turned to the green side by Grunty.
