With the Wii Fit shipment and release date fiasco everyone is foaming at the mouth to get their copy of this exercise Wii game. Seems like there has been a mix-up with the release date, customers who pre-purchased the game were expecting it Monday the 19th but were told the game was street dated until Weds 21st. My opinion, it's only a different of two days people, calm down. Either way, the game is already a HUGE success, Amazon exeeded their pre-order limit in record time, even GameStops had to continue pre-orders through future shipments.
Nintendo is doing something right. Wii systems are still rare to come by, and it's not from the lack of production, Super Mario Galaxy blew people away with it's next-gen gameplay and gorgeous graphics, then came Super Smash Bros. Brawl which was record breaking in it's own right, after that it was Mario Kart which was poorly timed with the GTA 4 release but sold plenty either way. Next we have Wii Fit which is already a best seller and it isn't even in stores yet.
I am and always have been a HUGE Nintendo fan, I do not believe Nintendo is "selling out", I think they are extremely smart and marketing geniuses. I have no passion to pick up Wii Fit, but Nintendo knows their main audience and knows that this game is exactly what they are looking for. New comers to the gaming scene fell in love with Wii Sports, then Wii Play and now Wii Fit. When people who know nothing about gaming find out I work in the game industry they immediately bring up the Wii. They either played it at a friends house or just recently bought one, and they love it. Nintendo is openning so many doors and turning so many people on to gaming and it's a beautiful thing. My mom is a perfect example; when I first brought my Wii home and popped in Wii Sports, she was completely captivated. She quickly picked up a Wiimote and the motions and gameplay felt natural to her. Soon I would catch her playing by herself in her own free time, then she started asking me about other games and options. Now, she can kick my ass in Guitar Hero. When I moved I let her keep my Wii (since my boyf already had one, no need to have two) and she still wil call me up and tell me about how she is beating games on Hard in Guitar Hero and she is now yet another one of Nintendo's loyal customers.
I do not plan on getting Wii Fit, it is not my style or type of game, but I do love the concept and the idea. I also love how Nintendo, with it's games like Wii Fit, is openning the minds of young and old to a whole nother world of entertaintment.

I'm getting it, even though I'm a little fitter now than I used to be. Color me curious. :)
Well I dunno about a delay, I preordered mine and it shipped yesterday... of course I'm not expecting it until the 23rd so I still have a little while to wait (didn't pay extra for shipping).
Count me in!
**muah**
I've got nothing against the people who want to spend their cash on this, but I don't need a video game to tell me how to do a push-up.
more toys for my wii, im down
I'm interested in it, it suppose to be a fun way to exercise.
they are already out here in the UK, and I've played my friend's... I find myself falling off the board lol. maybe I am just uncoordinated. Reminds me of Yourself Fit for the PS2 and Xbox that was released a while back. Its alllll fun and games until the virtual instructor reminds you she hasnt seen you in a few days....
I myself don't plan to get this, since I have a Bowflex and a pair of running shoes to keep me fit. I do have friends and family who are apt to get it, though, and I am curious to see how it plays. :)
I'm not getting it right away, but I'm likely to purchase it sometime within the next year. I'm interested in it, that's for sure, but not all that hyped up.
