Pokemon Platinum

A while back I reported on rumors of a new Pokemon game. The rumors were from a Japanese magazine called CoroCoro. According to their latest issue the rumors are true. There will be a new game for the Nintendo DS called Pokemon Platinum. It will act as the third game in the Pearl/Diamond series. It will be similar to Pokemon Yellow, Crystal and Emerald in that it will be the same in foundation but with many added upgrades. Some upgrades will include improving the existing Pokemon and a whole new battle interface. We will also be learning more about Giratina and it's origins as well.

Sadly this game will only be in Japan come this September, no word on it's American debut but Q1 or Q2 2009 seems likely.

YAY!! I read about this before I went to bed...knew I should have made a post about it lol I'm excited...though its going to be interesting trying to see if they keep the same pokemon or if they are adding new ones...only time will tell.

@Miz_Calamity - I'm pretty sure they're keeping the 4th generation Pokemon without any new ones. I thought that Munchlax might've been in Pokemon Emerald, as he was in a Pokemon movie before the release of Pokemon Emerald, but they still kept him out until Diamond/Pearl. =\

@Banjo_and_Kazooie: Yea I figure as much. OMG I was upset that I had to wait until D/P to get Munchlax! Those darn pokemon movies/shows can be so misleading o_O. One thing I do know is that one of the pokemon, Shellos I think, is supposed to look different in different regions that its in so hopefully they add something new for that pokemon.

@Miz_Calamity - I was upset too, he seemed so awesome! Anywayz, yeah, I've noticed that Shellos and Gastrodon do have a different appearances in different regions. (The first time I saw a blue Shellos I was so happy, I thought I'd come across a shiny!.. -_-) I just talked to someone who apparently has learned that in the new game Giratina will have a "snake-like" origin form, Shaymin will be part Ice, and Regigas can fly. (I honestly don't know if he's pulling my leg)

@Banjo_and_Kazooie: How the hell will Shaymin have part ice?? Its a GRASS type legendary..it wouldn't make any sense..and as far as Regigas goes how the hell would that fucker fly lol. I think your friend is pulling your leg but I know me, Nikole and Navie will be keeping close eyes on this game.

@Banjo_and_Kazooie: I take it back your friend may be right..I just checked a bunch of reliable Pokemon sources and they are all saying the same thing your friend said..but Regigas and Giratana's origin form will both have the "levitate" ability. They haven't stated what the origin form will look like...but I still don't understand how Shaymin will be part ice..but who knows?
