The Buzz:
-Once again Microsoft is denying rumors of ever turning to blu-ray. They say, "As we have stated, we have no plans to introduce a Blu-ray drive for Xbox 360." Despite this and many other similar quotes gossip won't stop about Microsoft going blu-ray.
-Last week there was buzz about the Chicago Transit Authority taking down GTA 4 ads. Well Take Two isn't too pleased with this and is suing on grounds of violation of free speech and contractual obligation. They are seeking monetary damage as well as having the ads being put back up. See GTA helps children learn about the legal system too.

Rumors: -A few weeks ago I reported on how the company behind the "electra pole" was looking to develop a stripping game for the Wii. Now, to fuel more gossip, Simon Kay, the company representative says the game is in development and will be targeted towards both men and women.
-Last week news surfaced that Blizzard has bought the domain: Diablo3.com. The url was previously owned by Diablofans.com, they gave up the domain voluntarily. Obviously this leads us to ask, Why? Many are speculating that another Diablo is on the way, one can only hope.

Announcements:
-The upcoming third person shooter Prototype has been delayed until sometime next year. The official statements says: "Since its announcement, Prototype has been regarded by many as groundbreaking and taking the open-world genre in new directions, and in the simplest explanation possible, we need more time to deliver the game the team initially set out to create."
-More sad news for Sony: The game Killzone has been announced for February next year rather than this fall as it was speculated.
-Harmonix has decided that they will release an expansion pack for the popular Rockband game for the Wii and PS2. The disks will act as stand alone games and they have all the content that has been released over XBL and the PSN network. For more info and tracks go to coderetarded.com

this will be a first, but I love your pic for this week in geek. don't know why, I simply do. now regarding games..lol. I don't know how many times MS will deny the blu ray player on the 360. personally I think we won't see one of those until the xbox 720.

I love the pic too. As for games, well GTA amd Mario Kart are out so those other games can wait, as I have will be playing these for a few years. By the way I have 3 friends who picked up a ps3 this year because of the blu-ray drive alone. I did as well, so good job microsoft I hope it brings you joy to shoot yourself in the foot.

Oh yes, I love your picture too, Nikole! Also love the cute hammyster too! I agree with peoplsfrank, I won't be playing any new games for awhile, GTA has my full attention. Also, as far as the PS3, it is an excellent Blu-Ray player, just not that great of a gaming system *yet*, only b/c of their lack of good first party games. Microsoft doesn't need to put a Blu-Ray player in their system, it's outselling the PS3 with ease.

Great pic. =P A Carmen Electra Stripping game for the Wii? Uhh.. That wouldn't sell a bit. I can't think of a single women who'd buy that and most men would find easier ways to drool over Carmen. Diablo 3?! Z0MgZ1!11! Awesome. No bluray - no suprise. Neverwinter Nights 2 Gold might be worth looking into, I think I've heard something before about Neverwinter Nights being the first MMORPG, but I don't know if it's any good. Prototype doesn't interest me.. I never really like the Pokemon Puzzle games... Well, decent/awesome week.

By the way Nikole, are you in RWP's Banjo-Kazooie 3 concept art contest?

I luv u Nikole...??!! lol, atay

Great to hear about Diablo 3 just hope its not a rumor

i lurve nikole and hamsters

Um, minor correction. It's Boom BLOX. :)

Killzone NEXT YEAR? = Ghey news

Expansion pack for Rock Band = srsly needed. Great news! :D

woo!! Diablo 3!!

Oh dear...Carmen Electra on Wii? Worst idea since glow in the dark ninjas although I'm sure some hermitical sex pest will pay good money for it...funny though, how Nintendo have vowed never to produce/sell hardcore games since Mortal Kombat smashed our spines, yet they'll happily package morally ambiguous, scrupulously dubious sex-themed games to the most stereotypically (often unjustly) sex starved demographic. More sneaky swine than altruist game gods.

As for the Microsoft/Bluray debacle MS will never hold hands with Sony over this as doing so would be tantamount to dropping trousers, grabbing ankles and declaring "we were wrong, give it to us" which Sony of course would do...savagely, through pricing, press and a massive loss of respect in the Japanese marketplace they would have MS over a barrel (so-to-speak) in the growing HD market. Where Sony screwed themselves as a gaming platform they've excelled as an HD media player.

Its just a shame that BD is an inferior format but thats what happens when you release a product half finished.

Xbox may be outselling PS3 for the moment but they are setting themselves up for a shock if they don't think that'll change as soon as PS3/BD comes down in price and becomes a widely commercially viable HD option - at the end of the day there are more people with DVDs than game collections.

Diablo/2 were awesome, bout time they got shineyed up a little although I'm not sure I'll ever stop playing GTA IV...finished it 3 days ago and I still can't stop.

Prototype's delay is no suprise, gonna be nice when it gets here and theres plenty to play til then - Alone in The Dark, Ninja Gaiden II, Soul Caliber IV, Force Unleashed and the list goes on...

Personally, its all about Resident Evil 5 and Huxley for me...when these two land I'll never blink again

Does that Carmen Electra game come with a pole attatchment like the Wi Wheel fo Mario Cart? Maybe some fake Monopoly 1 dollar bills to. If so I'll be heading out to buy a a Wi and a copy on release day. Now that's what I would call a party game, screw Wi sports! If not might be better off saving your 50 bucks or a real lap dance.
