Like everyone else on my Xbox Live buddy list (except for the one guy playing Viva Pinata) I am completely hooked and dangerously addicted to GTA 4. Seriously, you would think they would start to run out of ideas, I mean how do you make an already record breaking game even better?! Rockstar obviously has the answers.
So it's been about week since GTA 4 hit the streets and I believe most of you are playing it now or have had enough hands on time to get the feel of the new game. I don't even know where to start, I just finished off Brucie's missions last night...but I have put in more than 20 amount of hours just by doing side missions, random character quests and odd side jobs. Everytime I complete one thing, a new option or mission line opens up! It's like neverending and I love it.
The graphics are amazing, the attention to detail is impressive and I just love how fluid things work together. The best part has to be the voice acting and the character development, Niko is so laid back and chilled yet sarcastic and witty. I love how jolly and idiotic Roman is, and some of the other characters were/are just cold blooded, narotic, and unforgiving. My favorite character so far is probably Brucie, the meat head with a violent streak. He is hilarious with his body image obsession and he is so tweaked all the time.
I will say that holy shit I am completely surprised at amount of language and sexual references in this game so far...I am not complaining, I love it. I am just surprised this game only got a M rating, there is no excuse for a child to be playing this. The age old excuse mom's used to give me when I worked at GameStop when buying their kid a GTA game was, "They can see worse on the news", well that definitely does not hold true anymore. I am an adult and I love adult games, just keep this one away from the kids. Video games dont cause violence or bad kids....poor parenting does. But that's for a whole nother post.
As usual, the music in GTA 4 is great, Liberty Rocks is my favorite station. The aiming in my opinion has gotten a lot better, and the driving is still not as great as you would like it. But seriously, when has GTA drivng ever been easy? Oh and the tv stations are a great addition, I didn't realize I could waste so much time watching an in-game tv show and actually be amused. The internet is fun and the sites are really funny. Best of all tho is the story and the cutscenes, the story is extremely immersive and interesting, you learn more and more about Niko and his background little by little as you go. The cutscenes are very entertaining, I am usually impatient with cutscenes and just want to get to the game, but GTA 4's cutscenes are well written and you actually forget for a bit that you are playing a game, you get wrapped up in the story and the characters very easily.
Finding your way around the city is a little bit easier than in the past, this time around they have incorporated a Saints Row like GPS, but even with that major improvement you still learn your way around the city rather quickly on your own.
The online play is a lot of fun, it feels a little last minute or a tab like it was just thrown in the game to shut us gamers up who were whining about wanting multiplayer options. We got it tho, and it is a lot of fun regardless. Maybe next time around Rockstar will incorporate it more and make it a bit more indepth. But who doesn't love getting online and just blasting their friends away just for the hell of it?!
Anyways, to make this long post short, I give GTA 4 (so far) a full 10 on my game scale. I love it and I will playing it for many more hours to come.

I haven't played it & not really in a rush too either...Eventually I will tho, but the whole perfect ratings for this game is a little stretch I think...GTA3 is still the best of them all...But hey thats me, since release I heard nothin' but bad things about it
I used to think GTA 3 was the best of the series, until I played 4...and only heard bad things? All I am seeing is good things from fellow bloggers and the media. Oh well, I am having fun.
i love it. Raychul, i deleted a person and u didnt accept me :(. ur a cold blooded killah. im on the mission "Three Leaf Clover" right now and good GOD is it hard
wats more gangsta than GTA4? jamn to Public Enemy while playn GTA4 bitchez
this game is great u can turn it on and spend a few hours playing with out even realizing it. the classics station is great DJ Premier is the host. the hardcore station is good music to run people over to. i like finding the stunt jumps some of them are crazy u need a bike or a fast car. Brucie is so funny he cracks me up.
i just beat that mission and u get 250G's for it
Sonyboy69: I will add ya, sorry...since getting GTA I haven't even turned on my PS3.
i have it for ps3, so if anyone wants to add me, its strobeshow
Aye Raychul, whenever I decide to get it u gonna let me run u over on multiplayer a few times? All out of fun of course LOL
htown4life: Absolutely, I am always up for some multiplayer. But, I won't *let* you run me over...more like I will let you *try*. :)
So far I am VERY impressed with GTA 4. I don't really care for multiplayer for this series I would much rather be causing Chaos in Liberty City.
I won't be playing the multiplayer until I finish the main story. But once I do get to the multiplayer I will pwn all!
I haven't played it either...but I'm dying to get my hands on a copy. (don't live in the states)
I am definitely loving this game, I have not done much of it just been spending my time messing around doing a few multi player rounds, if any one would like to do a few online sessions my Gamer Tag is Dante52uk....
Viva Pinata isn't a bad game... :)
I kinda hated it bcause i didnt kno the freakin controls & my friend didnt let me play sum freakin missions...ahhh..
Raychul - Alright, I let you know when I get the game
By the way I'm a pretty good driver, even tho they said the handlin sucks in the game now...I shouldn't have to try to hard to make ur character a bumper sticker :)
Visually its better than the other G.T.A.s, but thats all it is. The story is the same as the last one and the one before it, the difference is how they worded it to make it seem like a new story, with new characters.
I love this game. Drunk driving and the online option are some of my favorite things to do in Liberty City
its is truly good but haven'tz used the live multiplayer feature as of yet i may do sometime but its the single player thats always been GTA's main focus and yes its the little things in this game that are often over looked that make this game great but however its isn't in my view a 10/10 game its does have small issues but i'm sure there will be a update for them, and also although the driving can be fun at times i just get pissed off when your going slow and you turn and even then you have massive understeer its just insane and the faster bikes are also have inpractical controls but a least the fun factor makes up for this stuff, going around a corner while your back wheels try to regain grip as your being hunted by the police!
another thing is the pigeons! so far i have found 50
This game is great no doubt about it.
Great game so far. I just wish that bitch Michelle would stop bugging me to go out. She must be one horny girl cause I gave her some warm coffee about 10 times already in the last week.
I tried to take her to the strip club to but it doesn't work.
Haha, bet you didn't think you'd find me here at GameGirl, did ya, Raych?
Anyway, I love this game. Played the heck out of it on PS3 for a review and I'm shifting over to the 360 shortly, once I get the piece of shit Iron Man out of the way. Which shouldn't be long (it's up on Ebay).
And I mean the game, mind you. Multiplayer match sometime on GTA IV? :)
TheDCD: Heya! I would love to play some GTA multiplayer with ya! I am usually on at night during the weekends...I will keep an out out for you.
It is a good game but overrated. It feels different but not all that great. It looks nice. Driving sucks and the fighting is okay. I would have given it a 9 out of ten but not a 10. Wow! It still ain't better than GTA 3 and that is better because of its impact.
the guy from gta3 was a real badass killer, hes doesn't talk, he doesn't have relationships with anyone, kills no question asked, a real psycho hate to find him in liberty city
