So I'm always writing notes to my parents that they don't really understand, using references that us gaming genre DO. Either way, the notes usually work, because my parents realize that I am a strange child, and this is just the way I communicate.
Since I make a ton of notes for them, I've decided to share the epicness with you all, one each week, to people that will actually get, and appreciate them... So I've been DYING for Chinese food for months, we only get it like twice a year and I'm so broke right now, I can't buy for myself... Therefore, I must ask the parentals!

It sort of worked! I get Chinese, tomorrow!! Catch the next note - next week!
P.S. Going to see Iron Man tonight. Expect a review soon!

lol very creative of you
Lol awesome note, i have to try this one day. I think i will go with a star wars vibe though :p
I've written a note for my parents like this once a LONG time ago lol
Surprisingly my parents understood what I was saying lol Awesome note =]
LMAO!!!!!!
lol cute...& I don't mean that in a patronising way either. It's nice to see a family able to do stuff like that and the parents are cool with it, and maybe even dig it. I haven't come across many families where original stuff like this happens, it's just pretty much everyone goes to school or work or whatever then comes back home and then that's it, nothing new or original.
It adds to your personality too. Canada really is a special place.
Thanks so much Fade2Vanish...You know, I really expected criticism with this post, tbh. I was going to see the outcome of comments before I decided to really make it a weekly thing. Since I've gotten some pretty positive feedback, I will for sure make it weekly. Just as comical relief for my readers! :D
As much as my parents and I may argue and spat about silly little things... I am really thankful that they have tolerated me all these years. Running around the house with a plastic katana, chasing my poor dog saying "WHERE'S BILL!? WHERE'S BILL!!!" Sneaking up on my mom then yelling "SPARTAN! WHAT IS YOUR OCCUPATION?!", freaking her out... Playing laser tag in the house with buds, making forts that take up the entire family room, having the ENTIRE block of children over to play N64 games.
...They have always put up with my crazy arse! They can laugh and talk about things like this with me, and it's awesome. They don't judge me for playing games constantly (K, with the exception of the WoW addicted days)
My dad loves Kill Bill, and Spider-Man! My mom thought transformers was bad ass, and has mastered the art of Tetris...
My rents are pretty wicked :)
A good comment about Canada is so hard to find on the interwebs.. I Thank truly thank you!
It's alright...be yourself...no one can judge you for being yourself even though I can understand if you were apprehensive about leaving a post that was a different from the usual direction of the content that is on the website.
I like to be myself without any peer pressure, like I can dig Emo's (even though that's not my of dress) & the way they don't care what people think of their dress code or life choices, the same for Goths.
Anything that goes in the way or tries to stop me being myself I will rebelagainst it. Like recently I bought some new shades (not like the ones in my Avatar, when I first saw my Avatar it was hilarious as I loko nothing like that), and I didn't take off the UV sticker off of them. Well my friends started telling me to take it off but the more they told me the more I left it on.
Well they haven't said anything for a while now and so I think it's time to take it off because I do think it looks a bit silly there. That's the way I like to do it, let me do my thing and eventually I will do it myself, if they hadn't of tried to pressure me when I first got them then I would've taken them off myself.
I do think though that the majority of users on this website have contributed mostly good things and not been horrible so it's not a surprise to me that your Note was received well. I think this kind of good atmosphere is seen alot in girl gaming oriented websites (I only found out about girl gaming like a couple of months ago) and is a welcome addition in my eyes to the whole gaming community.
I know a girl who has a Mum who plays a game quite good, I think it's called Bubble Bobble 3 Arcade Edition or something similar, but she just sits there zombie like and lifeless when she's playing it, and doesn't like to talk to anybody until her game is done.
I think Girl Gaming is a good idea, especially with the Wii the amount of social gaming they have on it, it provides a fun environment for girs and guys to interact competitively but in a fun environment, but also allows guys who enjoy interacting with girls to experience the ultimate in enjoyment. Imagine a team of two with girls on one team and boys on the other, playing a Wii game on a massive Cinema sized screen embedded in the sand on a beach, both teams playing it out while the sun sets behind the screen and a BBQ by the side for the gamers friends.
Whether a hardcore or more casual girl gamer, a guys opinion doesn't matter if he fails to see the potential of you and sais horrible things.
A girl can give life to another life, which is infinitely powerful, it's awesome, a girl is good for video games and it's such a nice feeling playing them if you know them.
I salute YOU. :D
