I understand this is a gaming website, but what gamer can't say they want the newest best technology? I recently had to make the choice between a couple new PDA phones that are out. So here are the few phones I selected from and what makes them so unique.
Verizons Voyager
The only thing that "wow'd" me about this phone, was it's desgin. But it's safe to say that the Voyager is the best PDA Verizon carries.
Blackberry Pearl
Blackberry is a word that everyone associates with PDAs. The Pearl has been out for about 2 years now, and AT&T just announced they will be selling them to new customers for only $29.99. This was one of the first phones I ever had, and I find it unbelievable that they're selling it for that price. Blackberrys have basic features all PDA's should have, and unlike the Pearls big brothers, the Pearl comes with a 2.0 MP camera. The Pearl navigation on the phone is original and works suprisingly well. The phone is good for emailing, texting, web browsing and that's about it. The only downfall I could find for this phone was there isn't a whole lot of personalization.
Moto Q
The Moto Q through Sprint slipped through everyones radar with a really bad launch. There's nothing really wrong with the phone. It runs off of Windows Mobile 6, and has the basic features of all the other PDAs (1.3MP camera, basic web viewing, email, ect..). The only thing I didn't like about this phone, it was built for a guys hand. I had issues holding it.
Pantech Duo
Pantech isn't a very respectable name when it comes to cellphones, they're mainly known for making inexpensive pay-as-you-go phones. The design of this phone is possibly one of the best, with the qwerty keyboard and then the slide phone for actual dialing. But I'd be worried about durability -- since I'm pretty rough on phones.
PalmOne Treo 700wx
Apple's Iphone
Enough said.
Samsung BlackJack II
I think I'm saving the best for last. After looking at multiple phones and features, I went with the Blackjack II. Like the Moto Q, it runs on Windows Mobile 6 -- Which allows you to edit (Not just view!) windows files from the phone itself (spreadsheets, excell, word). If you ever get a chance to get your hands on it -- I highly recommend just playing with it for a few minutes. It's a great phone, and only $79.99, with a two year contract! Plus it's one of the few PDAs that didn't take away the mobile gaming feature (Blackberry's Paddle Ball game doesn't count!).

what no love for my nokia e65? lol...
nokia makes pdas o.O
1st! Awesome list. I am actually looking at getting a new service company and new phone. I will definitely look into the ones above! Thanks bunnyXablaze!
the pearl for 29.99? thought it was 99.99? i purchased my pearl a few years back for 200 and that was with a 2 year contract. If that 29.99 tag is for real that is hella bargain for sure.
Voyager is pretty awesome. My brother got one recently. nice piece of hardware right there.
Yeah. I didn't believe the Pearl thing when I heard it. But at the end of March they're going to be 29.99.
That's insane x.x
has any1 seen the Verizon Venus? its that sliding touchscreen jawn
I was going to do the Venus, but the Venus and the Voyager are so much alike -- And the Voyager has more bells and whisles.
i cant wait to get the Voyager, but its gonna take me a while to get used to the keyboard. i went from a brick moto, to a Kyocera Slider, to a red Samsung mp3 phone (which i currently have) and Voyager is up next. as u can tell, every phone iv had uses the standard button placement and its gonna be interesting to start over. i havnt even memorized all the damn letters on a keyboard other than W,A,S,D,Q,E, and R haha. i always look down when i type and i type slow and w/ only 4 fingers. yea im weird like that.
i have the blackjack1, definitely a great phone... you'll definitely want to get a car charger since it chews up batteries when on aim or using java... unless of course they improved that with the bjII
I think the AT&T Tilt is a strong contender.
I have a T-Mobile MDA.
Too bad I've dropped it so many times.
Alright, a top 7 post, excellent. too many choices so little cash, lol, no just kidding, ita a good thing you made this post miss bunny because i was about to purchase some new phone and this way i can decide better, the phone i got right now are the same phones they used to have back in the civil war on 1861, its pretty old, the ones that are in my mind are the iphone and the voyager, i will let fate decide. good post and Farewell.
Hey! I have that Palm Treo as my phone! Except its on Sprint...heh...
I got my Blackberry Curve and thats all I need...i love the thing.
iphone is the best..... if u jailbreak it and install 3rd part apps.. if u too scared then its not so great.. but having a touch screen game boy advance on the iphone is cool.. u can even get a sone emulator on it... but a car ran mines over.. i have to save up sum money so i can buy another 1 :(
the Moto Q is probably the best out of your list, IMO.
the iPhone lacks a camera so you can't take pictures or record videos. when they update it and add those features, it'll be the best one hands down.
also, it is worth mentioning the Helio Ocean which is also by Pantech. it's a REALLY popular phone. you should check it out if you haven't :]
The Iphone has a camera. o.O
One of the icons on the picture I posted, says camera. =/
ha, you are correct and i am obviously retarded :D
i read some where that it was missing some normal functions that most cell phones have. can't remember what so i'm just going to say the iPhone is the winner.
too bad it's sooo expensive :/
ooo, i remember one thing...it's EDGE instead of HSDPA
you know a lot of people bitched about the iphone not having a physical keyboard, but honestly since i got one, i noticed i hit the wrong button just as much as i did with the tiny ass qwerty the other phones. i got fat fingers but with the virtual keyboard i can slide my finger over to the correct key when i make a mistake and it will go with me.
since i'm a mac user too, for the first time all my contacts and calanders are synced with my laptop! joy!
meh...touchscreen phones...good for looking cool and showing off, not so good for the long drunken walk home from the pub trying to phone a taxi with greasy fingers from the kebab you just munched haha
