Ask the GameGirls! - Volume 2

Oct. 15 1:48 PM by The Game Girls

This week, Jessica writes to the GameGirls asking for advice on which Wii games she should buy for her girlfriend in order to get her more into the Wii. Also, Eric writes in wanting to know which celebrities the Game Girls think they resemble most.

Question from Jessica:

Hey GameGirls! My girlfriend's birthday is right around the corner and we just got a Wii with no games other than Wii Sports. She absolutely LOVES Wii Sports and I want to know what Wii games I should buy her. She's never been into gaming until now. Any suggestions?

Thanks GameGirls!

-Jessica

GameGirls' Responses:

Nikole's response:
If she is nub to the gaming world I suggest starting with games she likes. She likes Wii Sports so other games like that are Cooking Mama and WarioWare. Guitar Hero 3 for the Wii is coming out soon, and thats going to be a real crowd pleaser. I know my sister is a casual gamer at best and her favorite game is Mario Party 8. Also get some games that you like to so you can expand her love of games. I hear good things about Metroid Prime 3 too.

Miz_Calamity's response:
Jessica, I don't know where to begin when it comes to choosing games for the Wii. There are just so many fun ones to play! First and foremost you MUST get Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess (it would be an abomination to not play one of the most renowned games on the Wii) also the new Metroid game would be good choice. Also since I know you would like games that you can play co-op or against each other, you should get Mario Party 8--it's not that much fun playing by yourself, but with someone else it's really entertaining. I guess the last game I would suggest is Boogie--now don't take my word on this one as I haven't played it yet--but it looks fun. It comes with a microphone for you to sing and you use the Wii remote to make the character "boogie." Those are the only suggestions I have for you right now, but it's nice to know that you're bringing your girlfriend slowly into gaming and with such a fun system too!

Raychul's response:
Try WarioWare: Smooth Moves... a lot of the same ideas and minigames as Wii Sports are in this one too, as in swinging a bat or fanning a fire, tons of fun and has multiplayer too! If not WarioWare, Carnival Games was pretty fun as well.

bunnyXablaze's response:
Wii Play is a must play game for the Wii. I'm not a huge Wii fan, I basically bought mine for Super Smash Bros. Brawl and the 2 upcoming Resident Evil games, but you might want to look into Mario Party 8 and possibly Dewy's Adventure, which is a fun, cute title.

Oh_Snap's response:
I'd also say WarioWare: Smooth Moves: it's full of fun minigames that make use of the controller, so she'd probably enjoy it. She might like Boogie too.

Britini Martini's response:
I don't own a Wii, but I think Resident Evil 4 looks cool, but since she's new to gaming I'd suggest any of the Mario games for the Wii (Mario Party 8, WarioWare: Smooth Moves, Paper Mario) since Resident Evil might be too much for her.

Question from Eric:

Hi GameGirls, I was speaking with some forum dudes and I realized that Britini Martini looks a lot like Tina Fey. Both women being beautiful... so this got me wondering. What celebrities do you think you all look like?

-Eric

bunnyXablaze's response:
Not a celebrity per se... but a little breasted, big eyed anime character. (If they exist...)

FemmeFatale's response:
Funny you ask that Eric! Almost every day at work or anywhere I go, someone will always say "you look exactly like that chick from sex and the city (Sarah Jessica Parker)!" I've been getting that for years and years. When my hair is straightened I get a lot that I look like Jennifer Aniston. (I wish?) I can see the SJP resemblance, but not so much the JA.

Raychul's response:
I don't look like anyone that I know of.

Miz_Calamity's response:
Eric, Honestly I don't know. I guess I could answer this one using a game character! I think I most resemble Yuna from Final Fantasy X, or at least I did BEFORE I went wacky with my hair. So... maybe someone reading this response can say who I look like.

Britini Martini's response:
Tina Fey? Hmm... I've heard that I look like a few people, but I don't know who I recently look like because I cut all my hair off. If you say Tina, then I'll go with that.

Nikole's response:
I think it's fairly obvious. I mean people think of Jessica Alba when they see me, right? Only I seem to see it... Everyone actually tells me I look like the girl from Donnie Darko, Jena Malone.

Thats exactly who I thought you looked like FemmeFatale, when I saw your avatar.

I agree with most of these Wii suggestions. Wii Play and WarioWare:SM are the best choices for a Wii Sports fan. Also, Rayman is quite fun.

yay my question was answered!

Two words: Mario Strikers.

*Three words: Mario Strikers Charged

lol I love how you guys found pics for us on the "celebrity" question lol so sexy!

Hahaha. Don't tell me the green anime girl has something to do with my answer!

Oh_Snap reminds me of Harley Quinn...

Four words: I will kill LHO.

damn I misread the article...what wii is he looking attention for?

Now, now, Nikole. It's obvious that you're using the Jessica Alba line to get my attention. It's okay...really. You don't need to try so hard. You had me at "teh hawt."

And for the record, Donnie Darko is excellent and Ms. Malone is a cutie.

I can't back up the Britini Tina Fey thing. Britini's picture is at at an angle and slightly over the shoulder. It's way to hard to be able to tell what a normal picture would look like.

You girls are so helpful...lol

Peaplesfrank: I have more pics in my pro...
I honestly don't think I look a lot like her. her face is too skinny and she has NO lips. lol

I just looked at your profile, I didn't realize it was there. Yeah, you look nothing like Fey, it has to be the glasses in the pic you use for posting.

That's not a bad thing though, I think Fey is funny but not really an attractive woman. And she should have stayed on SNL, but I digress..

I'd say Tina Fey is an attractive woman, especially considering she's like 37 now, and it seems like she has a great personality. If you know a girl is going to still look good at 37, you're like 50 steps ahead in the game. Martini is alright too, but Tina Fey is funnier. FemmeFatale looks like a french girl I know.

wow its amazing how much more civilized it is here in gamergirl world than over in the gp forums, lol, but shhhhh!!! dont tell them i said that.
